The South
Plains Homeless Consortium, formerly The Lubbock Homeless Consortium,
is a group of service organizations committed to serving the homeless
and human service agencies interested in improving quality of
life for the homeless. It was formed in response to the
need of identifying homeless issues in the South Plains Region
and the availability of federal funds for programs that deal with
various issues in relation to the homeless population. The consortium
name change better reflects the true scope of service in the 15
county South Plains Region.
To assist
in the delivery of unified quality services designed to meet
the needs of the homeless and at-risk population through a continuum
of care that ultimately results in self-sufficiency.
To educate
the public on homeless issues; to promote public awareness as
an advocate of the homeless.
To involve
the community in active support of homeless issues.
